Always satisfied when I've gone here so far. Nice people.

I would expect Englewood Community Hospital to be capable of diagnosing a relatively simple condition like dehydration in south Florida, but now I have to deal with the subsequent Urgent Care, ambulance ride, and ER costs, which I'm sure will be in the 5-figures. The patient advocate was very apologetic, and said she would have Rene Jackson, risk management director, contact me. I finally got a return call from Rene today, more than two weeks later, and she clearly had no time for me or my pain and humiliation, stated repeatedly that she had no idea why she was expected to speak to me, and that all she could do was submit it for peer review, which is confidential so I would never know what the doctors decided. She also claimed that I must have become severely dehydrated within the 18 hours between visiting her facility and Fawcett, because her staff would have diagnosed it.

It's so frustrating, as a woman, to repeatedly be treated like I'm stupid for desperately trying to seek medical treatment when I knew something was very wrong, and I knew I was in no shape to care for 3 young children alone. This is an epidemic in the medical industry, leading so many women to ignore serious symptoms for fear of being ridiculed by the very people who are sworn to help. Inexcusable.

Would go again, and save the trip to Port Charlotte or Venice or Sarasota.

Note to the hospital: please don't pretend to care and ask me to call and speak to someone. I've done that, repeatedly, and apparently I'm still an idiot and somehow at fault for "choosing to visit an emergency room" for a non-emergency (those were Rene Jackson's words just today).

Very fast and very friendly. People there actually care. Even though I ended up with news i didn't wanna hear, I'm glad the staff there was so quick to help me. The doctors are amazing.

I visited a walk-in clinic complaining of tachycardia, shortness of breath, thirst, dizziness, lightheadedness, numbness, feeling faint. Was told to go straight the the ER, because they couldn't treat me. I went to Englewood ER, where I was treated very poorly, and spoken to as if I were either an idiot or a hysterical woman having a panic attack. The nurse, Alexis, spoke to me as if it were a police interrogation, arguing about my previous health history and second-guessing my primary care provider's judgement. I was refused fluids despite complaining of thirst, and ultimately told to go home by Dr. Theresa Whitt because the ER was only for people with emergencies. My blood pressure was 169/94, heart rate was 120, and I couldn't feel my legs. Seemed serious to me. I drove myself home, crying uncontrollably at that point and unsure if I could get home without passing out.

Went to the ER. Short wait to fill out paperwork. Doctor was friendly, with good insights a diagnosis.

Door to door less than 90 mins.

Awful. They failed to diagnose my wife with dehydration in SW Florida. She was discharged with a racing pulse, numb legs, and high blood pressure. Fortunately she was smart enough to seek out another ER the next day and received the proper diagnosis. Everyone knows dehydration is dangerous much more this time of the year. As an added bonus the nurse was a prick and left her alone to disconnect herself and show herself out. If this sounds like a good experience, go for it.

The next day I was even worse, unable to care for my children, so I tried to go back to the walk-in clinic, who refused to see me and told me to go back to the ER. I knew that was pointless, so I went to an Urgent Care facility, who sent me by ambulance to Fawcett ER. There I was diagnosed with severe dehydration and given IV fluids and medication. The doctor attested that all the symptoms were likely due to dehydration, which is, of course, an emergency condition.
